We are a community serving the citizens and businesses of Tennessee and beyond. We support learning by creating, sharing and applying knowledge. We succeed when our work, and that of our students and partners, generates nationally and internationally recognized outcomes that improve the world.
We work to inspire our students, colleagues, business and society. We challenge the status quo, enhance knowledge, drive change and transform the world.

Integrity is essential to our community and is supported by openness, communication, accountability, professionalism and the courage to live our values.
We value the creation and sharing of knowledge. Support for learning and enhancing understanding is central to all that we do.
We value diversity in its many forms and recognize that constructive debate makes us better. Inclusion and respect for all makes our community stronger.
We are committed to excellence, enduring influence, relevance and creativity. We want to make a positive difference through our ideas and actions.
Our strategic initiatives focus on the thought leadership of our faculty, as well as engaging and developing students to become well-prepared graduates. Achieving our goals in four strategic areas will propel us in fulfilling our mission and achieving our vision.

The Haslam College of Business was first accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in 1941, becoming the 53rd school to earn this distinguished accreditation. Currently, 817 business schools in 53 countries hold this honor. Haslam also is among the 186 institutions that hold an additional, specialized AACSB accreditation for its accounting program.
In 2022, UT went through the five-year maintenance of accreditation process for both the college and the accounting program, receiving continued accreditation of both until 2027. The AACSB accreditation process is a comprehensive review of a school’s mission, faculty qualifications and curricula, and the process includes self-evaluations, peer-reviews, committee reviews and the development of in-depth strategic plans. Accreditation ensures students are learning material most relevant to their field of study, preparing them to be effective leaders upon graduation.

The Office of Access and Community Connections (OACC) offers a variety of programs, organizations, services and initiatives designed to provide access, connections and support to Haslam students, faculty, staff and stakeholders, as well as the community. Our team provides mentorship, academic support and resources to foster growth and support the university’s mission of advancing access, opportunity and inclusivity. We also work closely with campus partners and community organizations to promote access and connections across the university and beyond. We celebrate the richness of our community and strive to create a sense of belonging for everyone through various camps, programs, summits and other events for future and current students, as well as faculty, staff and other stakeholders.
