Biography

John-Patrick Paraskevas is an assistant professor of supply chain management at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s Haslam College of Business. He is a Ray & Joan Myatt Faculty Fellow. Paraskevas earned his doctorate in supply chain management from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. His research focuses on buyer-supplier relationships, supply chain representation in the C-suite and supply chain risk management. His research has appeared in the Journal of Supply Chain Management, the International Journal of Operations and Production Management and Technovation. It also has been nominated for awards at the Academy of Management Conference, the Strategic Management Society Conference and by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Paraskevas has worked in the defense industry in supplier network management and supplier finance. He has taught carrier management, introduction to supply chain and operations management, supply chain risk management and executive decision-making, receiving numerous commendations for teaching excellence.

Executive MBA

An award-winning scholar in strategic supply chain management, John-Patrick Paraskevas helps executive leaders develop the judgment needed to navigate disruption, manage buyer-supplier relationships, and make sound operational decisions. Drawing on both academic expertise and early experience in supplier network management at Naval Air Systems Command, he brings a practical, relevant perspective to the classroom.

Through his work with Haslam’s Advanced Supply Chain Collaborative, he remains closely connected to the challenges organizations face today and incorporates those insights into his teaching. His research on strategy, resilience, and top management teams has appeared in leading academic journals, and he has informed work with organizations ranging from the Department of Defense and NIST to Fortune 500 companies and supply chain startups.

Paraskevas teaches a highly interactive class centered on simulation, discussion, and shared executive experience, and his students graduate prepared to build resilient, strategically aligned supply chains.
